Our private city tours take you through Marrakech, Fes and Casablanca with a licensed local guide in the medinas and your own driver for the longer distances between sights. You choose the start time and the pace, and no one else joins your group.
A half day covers the heart of the old medina; a full day adds the palaces, gardens and quarters farther out. Each city tour can be booked on its own or added to one of our multi-day tours, and we send the price with your plan.

How Our City Tours Work
A city tour with us is private from start to finish: your guide, your driver, your pace.
Your guide
In the medinas of Marrakech and Fes you walk with a licensed local guide. The old cities are car-free mazes, and a good guide does more than find the way: they explain what you are looking at, open doors you would walk past, and keep the hustlers at a distance.
Your driver
Your driver collects you at your riad or hotel and takes you between the parts of the city that are too far apart to walk, such as the medina and the Majorelle Garden in Marrakech, or the Hassan II Mosque and the Habous quarter in Casablanca.
Half day or full day
A half day covers the main sights of the old city on foot. A full day adds the places farther out and leaves time for a long lunch. Start early in summer, when the afternoons are hot, and tell us if you would rather begin after a slow breakfast.
What is included
- Included: your private guide, your driver and vehicle when the tour needs one, and pickup and drop-off at your riad or hotel.
- Not included: entrance fees to monuments and museums, lunch and drinks, and tips. Your guide tells you each fee before you go in.
Shopping
The souks are part of every medina tour, but buying is up to you. Tell your guide what you would like to see, whether that is carpets, leather, ceramics or nothing at all.
Which City Tour Is for You?
Marrakech: color and noise
Our Marrakech medina tour is the liveliest of the three: the Jemaa el-Fna square, the covered souks, the painted ceilings of the Bahia Palace and the old Jewish quarter. Add the Majorelle Garden for a full day.
Fes: the medieval city
The Fes guided tour goes deep into Fes el-Bali, the old walled medina: madrasas, the Chouara tannery and lanes of coppersmiths and weavers. It is the city where a guide makes the biggest difference.
Casablanca: the modern city
The Casablanca city tour is built around a guided visit inside the Hassan II Mosque, with the ocean road, the Habous quarter and the Art Deco downtown. It fits well on the day you land or the day you fly home.

Do we need a guide in the medinas of Morocco?
You can walk the medinas alone, but in Fes and Marrakech a licensed guide saves a lot of time and explains what you see. Unofficial guides often approach visitors who are on their own; with a licensed guide they leave you alone.
How long is a city tour?
A half day covers the old medina on foot. A full day adds the sights farther out, with your driver taking you between them.
How much does a private city tour cost?
It depends on the city, the length of the tour and how many of you there are. Tell us your date and group size and we send the exact price within 24 hours. Entrance fees are paid on the day.
Can we add a city tour to a multi-day tour?
Yes. Most of our tours stop a night or two in Marrakech or Fes, and a guided medina tour fits well on those days. Tell us when you ask for your quote.
Are city tours suitable for older travelers and children?
Yes, at the right pace. The medina lanes are uneven and busy, so tell us who is coming and we keep the walking short and plan breaks.
