Multi-day tours are priced on request, because the price depends on your group size, the hotel level you choose and the season. The cost of the car and driver is shared, so it falls per person as the group grows. Private day trips start from about $40 per person for groups of up to 6.

Because a single “from” price would rarely be what you pay. The same 7-day route costs very different amounts for two people in riads and for six people in luxury hotels. We send the real figure for your trip within 24 hours.

No. Sending a trip request is free and does not commit you to anything.

Yes. Every route can change: the starting city, the number of days, the pace, the stops and the hotel level.

A non-refundable deposit confirms your booking: €100 for most tours, €150 for selected tours, or 30% of the total price for a day trip or transfer, paid by card, PayPal or bank transfer. The balance is usually paid in cash on the first day; card and bank payments carry a 5% processing fee. Our booking terms page has the details.

More than 30 days before departure, the booking is cancelled free of charge but the deposit is not refunded. From 30 to 16 days before, charges may apply for services that can no longer be cancelled. From 15 days before, for no-shows and for leaving a tour after it has started, the full price is charged.

Private transport in an air-conditioned vehicle, an English-speaking driver/guide, hotels and riads, a night at a desert camp in Merzouga, breakfasts and dinners on the desert tour, a camel ride, sandboarding and Berber music in the Sahara, flexible stops, and all transport and driver costs.

Lunches and drinks, monument and museum entrance fees, personal expenses and optional activities, and tips, which are optional.

Yes. One English-speaking driver/guide stays with you from the first pickup to the last drop-off. Other languages are available on request.

An air-conditioned 4×4 or minivan, depending on the size of your group and the route.

In hotels, traditional riads, kasbah-style properties and a desert camp. We send accommodation options with your quote, based on your dates, the hotel level you choose and what is available.

Anywhere in Morocco. Most tours start in Marrakech, Casablanca, Fes or Tangier, where the flights and ferries arrive.

The Erg Chebbi dunes at Merzouga are about 9 hours’ drive from Marrakech, so we split the journey over 2 days. The smaller dunes at Zagora are about 7 hours away and fit into a 2-day trip.

No: the dunes are too far from the big cities. The Agafay desert, about 45 minutes from Marrakech, is a stony desert landscape you can see in an afternoon.

It depends on the camp category you choose, from simple to luxury. We confirm the exact camp, the tent category and the bathroom facilities with your quote, according to your tour and availability.

Yes. Every desert tour includes a camel ride in the dunes, sandboarding, and dinner and breakfast at the camp.

October to April. Summer days at Merzouga are very hot, and winter nights are cold, so bring warm layers from November to February.

Cars cannot reach most riads, so your driver meets you at the nearest gate or square. Hotels outside the medina are picked up at the door.

No. Citizens of the US, Canada, the UK, Australia and most of Europe can visit Morocco without a visa for up to 90 days. Your passport must be valid for your whole stay. Rules change, so check with your government before you travel.

Spring, from March to May, and autumn, from September to November, are the most comfortable. Summer is very hot inland, and winter brings snow to the Atlas and cold desert nights.

Seven days is enough for a first loop through the imperial cities and one night in the Sahara. With 10 to 14 days you can add the coast, the mountains and a slower pace.

Yes, for most visitors. The usual problems are petty: pickpockets in crowded places, pushy touts and overcharging. Our guide to whether Morocco is safe covers it in detail.

Light clothes that cover the shoulders and knees, comfortable walking shoes, a hat and sunglasses, and a warm layer: the mountains and the desert are cold at night for much of the year.

The Moroccan dirham (MAD). It can only be bought in Morocco, so change money or use an ATM when you arrive. Carry cash for lunches, markets and tips; larger hotels and restaurants take cards.

Tips are optional and never included in the price. Travelers often tip their driver at the end of the trip, and local guides and camp staff at the end of the visit.

Yes, in licensed hotels, restaurants and bars, mostly in the cities. Most cafés in the medinas do not serve alcohol, and drinking in the street is not acceptable.

Yes. Tours run as usual. Some cafés and restaurants outside the tourist areas close during the day, and it is polite not to eat or drink in the street in daylight. The evenings, after the fast is broken, are lively.

Always ask first. Some people prefer not to be photographed, and performers in the squares expect a small tip for a picture.
