Where to Go from Fes
South to the Sahara

North to Chefchaouen
The blue town of Chefchaouen is about 4 hours north in the Rif Mountains. It works as a day trip, but a night there is far better: you see it early and late, without the crowds.
Meknes and Volubilis
Moulay Ismail’s imperial city and the Roman ruins of Volubilis are an easy half day from Fes, about an hour away.
