Standard or Luxury: What Is the Difference?
Every camp gives you the same dunes, sunset and stars. The difference is comfort.
Standard desert camps
Fixed Berber-style tents with beds and blankets, a shared bathroom block, dinner in a dining tent and music around the fire. Simple, and many travelers love that.
Luxury desert camps
Larger tents, usually with a proper double or twin bed, an en-suite bathroom with a shower and electricity; many are heated in winter. We confirm the exact tent and its facilities with your quote. Dinners are more elaborate, often served in the open when the weather allows. Some camps have only a handful of tents, which keeps them quiet.
Private camps
For honeymoons or families who want the dunes to themselves, ask us about a private camp for your group, and we tell you what is available for your dates.

Your Night at a Morocco Desert Camp
You leave the car at the edge of the dunes in the late afternoon, with a small overnight bag, and ride a camel to camp. If anyone would rather not ride, most camps can be reached by 4×4.
Evening and morning
Watch the sunset from a dune near camp, then dinner, usually soup, tagine and fruit, followed by drums around the fire. Wake before dawn to climb a dune for sunrise, then breakfast and the ride back.

When to go
March to May and September to November are the most comfortable. Many luxury camps heat their tents in winter, which makes December to February a good, quieter season too.
