The ferry from Tarifa or Algeciras makes northern Morocco an easy addition to a trip in Andalusia. Five days is enough for the three places most people want to see: Tangier, Chefchaouen and Fes. Day 1: Ferry to Tangier
Port transferYour driver meets you off the ferry at Tanger Ville, from Tarifa, or Tanger Med, from Algeciras. Spend the afternoon in Tangier: the kasbah, the café terraces over the Strait and Cap Spartel, where the Atlantic meets the Mediterranean.

Day 2: Tangier to Tetouan and Chefchaouen
About 2 h 30 min driving · 125 kmStop in Tetouan, a white medina with a strong Andalusian heritage, then climb into the Rif to Chefchaouen. The afternoon is for its blue lanes and the walk up to the Spanish Mosque for sunset.

No long drive todayA full day in Fes el-Bali with a licensed local guide, which we can arrange: the madrasas, Al-Qarawiyyin, the souks and the Chouara Tannery. End with the view from the Merinid Tombs.

Day 5: Fes to Asilah and Tangier

How do you get from Spain to Morocco?
By ferry across the Strait of Gibraltar. From Tarifa, ferries arrive at Tanger Ville in the center of Tangier; from Algeciras, they arrive at Tanger Med, about 45 minutes from town. The crossing takes about an hour.
Is this a good trip from Spain to Morocco for a first visit?
Yes. Tangier, Chefchaouen and Fes are the highlights of the north, and the drives are short. For the desert, you need at least a week.
Are ferry tickets included?
No. You book the ferry yourself; we meet you at whichever port and time you choose. Tell us your crossing and we plan around it.
Can we do a day trip from Spain instead?
Yes, a Tangier day trip from Tarifa is possible, but five days gives you Chefchaouen and Fes as well, two of the highlights of northern Morocco.
